4th Preschool Education Summit
Dear Preschool Education Volunteer,
We are pleased to announce that we will organize the 4th Preschool Education Summit between 18-19 April 2020.
As the Platform for Future Education, we organize educational activities to contribute to the development of educators who are open to innovations and different ideas, who know their values, respect their past and can shape the future.
This year, the Preschool Education Summit, which will be held under the theme of “Don't Stop Chasing Your Dreams” will bring together experts in the field of education with their engaging, inspiring speeches and will include more than 30 workshops.
Our most important mental ability is our ability to "imagine the nonexistent". We do not think about this ability, but it is this feature that defines our life, and what distinguishes us from other creatures and even from each other. At the summit, we will bring together experts and masters in their field with approximately 2,500 Preschool Teachers devoted to development. We thank you in advance for your participation.

M. Akif Kireçci has obtained his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. He taught at the same university and later at Stevens Institute of Technology between 2004–2008. After his return to Turkey, he taught at Bilkent University, Ankara, between 2009 and 2019.
Prof. Kireçci has published works on modernization and internationalization of education, history of science and technology, history and politics of the Middle East and Central Asia, migration, intellectual movements, Islam and modernity, Orientalism and cultural transformations.
Prof. M. Akif Kireçci is currently the Dean of Faculty of Political Sciences at Social Sciences University of Ankara and serving in the executive board of FULBRIGHT Turkey Commission, and UNESCO National Commission for Turkey.
Prof. Kireçci is the recipient of the Janet Lee Stevens Award from the University of Pennsylvania and Marie Curie 2009 IRG from the REA–Research Agency of European Union.

Yeşilay President, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
He was born in 1965 in the Günyüzü district of Eskişehir. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Eskişehir. He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1990. In 1997, he completed his specialization training in Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Child Psychiatry and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist.
He received the title of Associate Professor in 2000 and Professor in 2007. He is currently a faculty member at the Department of Psychology at Ibn Haldun University. His books, Child Psychiatry in 2007, School Phobia in 99 Pages in 2006, Children in Divorced Families in 2008 and Impulsivity in Children in 2015, were published.
He is married and has 3 daughters.

During my years at Robert college and studying in the faculty of business at Boğazici university my dream was to have a career based on children. The word talent came to my mind as three of my daughters have different characteristics and talents. Just as each individual has a different character, I made inquiries thinking that each individual has different abilities. In 2002 I opened my first Nese Erberk preschool. Had discussions with many researchers and highly qualified teachers to do with early childhood education and development and we came to a conclusion with a rotation program to develop children’s talents.
This system involves children in their own age groups who explore different classrooms with different subjects which brings out the talent they enjoy with the quality materials that we provide. Today we have reached 42 schools. My dream now, however is to spread the Nese Erberk name further a field and open a school abroad.
We take education seriously and provide this with joy.
Sümeyye CeylanSümeyye Ceylan
Educational Designer, Founder of Usturlab
She is graduated in Mathematics from the University of Vienna. She defended her master thesis in Fourier Analysis. She did a second master in Pedagogy at the University of Vienna. During her stay in Vienna, she took Astronomy courses from Kuffner Observatory in Vienna. In 2013 She enrolled in Philosophy Phd at the Department of Philosophy, Istanbul Medeniyet University.
Her main academic interests are science education, philosophy of mathematics, logic, history of science, history of logic, STEAM education and social entrepreneurship. There was a growing urge inside her to do something to transform the way education system in Turkey works. She wanted to create a more child friendly, play and imagination driven education methodology. Therefore she established Usturlab in 2012, a social enterprise which produces contents, plays, toys, games for children to learn and designs scientific exhibitions.
More than 100,000 children received free education in the fields of astronomy, ecology, biology, microbiology, mathematics, coding, robotics, art and philosophy all over Turkey. Sümeyye Ceylan, who works as a consultant for various educational and public institutions and private companies, also designs science centers and scientific games.
She is married and has two sons.
Workshops
Each of our teachers can participate in 2 workshops, before and in the afternoon. A separate certificate will be issued for each workshop. Workshop selections will begin on Monday, April 6, 2020. Workshop capacities are limited by quota.

4. Participation Certificate will be given to the participants of the 4th Preschool Education Summit and the workshops separately.
4th Preschool Education Summit; preschool teachers, administrators and founders of preschool institutions, students studying in this field and anyone interested in education can participate. At the same time, students and academicians of relevant departments of universities can register as listeners.
